  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Now is the time to heat your bowl if you are needing to soften your butter. Place eggs in the warm water to become room temperature. Gather all ingredients including the mixing bowl, the beater paddle, a spatula, measuring spoons, measuring cups and all ingredients.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until a nice lightly fluffy about a minute. Add warm eggs one at a time until incorporated. Add vanilla. Mix in salt.
  3. In a small bowl or one of your already used measuring cups (let’s save those dishes people!) mix the hot water and your baking soda. Never do this step in advance, it’s activating the baking soda which will give your dough a nice rise. Stir mixture into the dough.
  4. Mix in the cake flour cup by cup until incorporated. *substitution above Stir in chocolate chips. *can be changed to M&M Mini’s, Reeses Pieces, what ever you like!
