Rice Krispie Treats are my new go to quick dessert!
Last week our school PTO hosted a bake sale. As the head of the committee, I thought about everything necessary, yet I forgot about my donation! I’m usually not one for Rice Krispie Treats, but it came to my rescue this day. There was no time to make a great big batch of cookies, cupcakes or even a cake. It was late and as a result I had only about 30 minutes to get this dessert ready to go for the bake sale. After scanning Pinterest where I will be honest, I spent about 10 minutes of my time just looking for the best Rice Krispie Treat recipe and the easiest cleanup I could get. I just love Pinterest, don’t you?
After reading a few quick blogs, I found a recipe I thought looked good and it was time for me to get up and get going. These Rice Krispie Treats were super easy to make, the research really paid off because of the super helpful tips that I read, made creating and cleaning up this snack a breeze. I threw the sprinkles on last minute and as a result, they added such a fun colors and made them looks so festive! With this recipe, you can easily swap party sprinkles for easter, Christmas or any other holiday colors! Plus, You can make a ton of different cake toppers and additional accessories out of Rice Krispie treats.
Easy Clean Up Tip!
Here is the tip of how to make this super easy with a very easy clean up. *WARNING* This is going to amaze you! Because this dessert is so very sticky, I sought an easier way to deal with clean up. First of all, I don’t enjoy spending a lot of time washing dishes, in addition to the fact I was running out of time.
- Spray your spoon and/or hands (to shape the Krispies) with cooking spray! This is difficult to slip around the kitchen with greasy fingers. But, it makes shaping your treats so quick and simple. As a result, the treats will not stick to you like glue!
- As soon as you’re done scooping the mixture out of the pot and into a cooling dish. Put hot soapy water in the pot along with the spoon. Wait about 5-10 minutes and you can wash it clean no problem!
