Welcome to Vertically Challenged Mom! I’m Robin a whole 4′ 8 1/2 inches tall and I’m told that I’m shrinking. LOL that’s okay, I’m scared of heights anyways! Being a short mom has its advantages, though my kids are outgrowing me faster than I had anticipated. I’m a crazy gardening woman who loves photography and baking!
I grew up eating fresh vegetables and fruits on the farm in Missouri. Once I grew up, I forgot about gardening until I started reading
about the poisons sprayed on our foods. I don’t want agent orange or roundup in my children’s food. But, organic food is way beyond our budget on a monthly level, so instead, we are going to grow our own. I have decided to devote my time and efforts into sharing just how I have achieved success and my many failures that I have had along my path. My goal in gardening is to create pizza and spaghetti sauce. Everything from the garlic and other herbs, to the carrots and tomatoes. I want it all the ingredients in the sauce to be what I have grown! I’m not sure if it will happen this year or not, but I am trying and will keep you up to date on the progress.
I am a photographer by trade, photographing everything from weddings to newborns and everything in between. I have a degree in Photography and in Videography. I take pride in my work and strive to constantly learn the next technique. Freelance journalism is a hobby that I dip into now and then you might see an event covered on the site. I’m constantly trying to keep myself busy! Plus, there is no better feeling than to see an image hanging on the wall 15 years later that is just as loved today as it was the day I took it. The rewards of this job outweigh all the cost.
I love to bake, I’m learning how to cook and I want to learn how to can. I am just a beginner, but the interest is there and I find great advice that I want to share so often! I am all about feeding my family a better diet, although I am a chocoholic on the rebound. You will quickly notice that I’m as sweets girl. My friends come over on the weekends and a common question is “Where’s the desert?”. I like to bake to give away as gifts as well. I’m all about doing a good deed and I’ve never seen anyone more appreciative than a construction worker receiving a bag of cookies at the end of his hard day at work.
I live out near The Great Smoky Mountains here in Tennessee. My team (my significant other and kids) are the best anyone could ever ask for and are my daily inspiration. I look forward to taking them with me on this journey we call life. I would love to hear from you, please leave me a message below!
